Action Research Plan--Thinking Through Math
Goal: How will incorporating the online program,
Thinking Through Math, on a weekly basis increase student achievement? Will six
week tests, Common Formative Assessments, previously known as benchmarks, and
STAAR scores show an increase for the students who are participating in the
program, when compared to the students who are not participating in the
program?

I am really interested in the outcome of your action research. I would like to know if using "think through math" will increase student achievement. I noticed that you will talk to parents about monitoring their child to use this software program at home, but what about those students that do not have computers at home. Is it going to have an affect for those that do practice at home and those that don't? I also noticed that your students will only be using it twice a week in your technology lab.
ReplyDeleteAt my campus we just started using "Think Through Math" and my students seem to be fully engaged when they are using it. I do stations four days out of the week and doing think through math is one of their math stations. You might consider letting them use it in the classroom once they finish their assignments or have some extra time.
I look forward to following your blog, so keep me updated on how it turns out.
